So after replacing my fuel pump and have a great day on the lake, all of the sudden my brother says that the throttle is sticking and had to turn the key off to get the boat to stop. The throttle/shift lever seems to have fallen apart from the controls. I took the cover off to find that there are a lot of metal shavings and what not. The handle was never all that solid on there, but it worked. I'm thinking it must have finally just let go. Is there somewhere where I can buy parts for the control without buying the entire controller? Thanks!

Re: Quicksilver Controls Parts

In my opinion, Due to your shifter control assembly is in such bad shape internally, you would be much better off safety wise to just google either Mercruiser or Teleflex marine shift controls and have a look around for a new one.

If you're determined to try and fix the old one, then you might be able to find some parts in the link below once you are able to determine what shifter control assembly you have.

Hope this helps, Good luck.:)

Thanks for the help. I suppose the best thing to do would be to get the old one off of there and see what the damages are. What is all involved in just getting a new controller? Is this something I can do myself? I just wouldn't want to screw up the shifting mechanism, like if you have to adjust stuff for forward, neutral, and reverse.
