Quicksilver 3000 Control?

My button in the center of the shifter that allows you to throttle in neutral is not working. Is there a manual or parts available to fix this.<br /> It is shifting and throttling fine in both forward and reverse. It is just hard to get started without the throttle. <br /> It is on a 1995 3.0 LX Alpha 1 if it makes a difference.

Yes, there is a manual, and a repair kit. Check with your Mercruiser dealer. Neither of those are aftermarket items.

My problem was in the control box itself. There was a bushing that broke and jammed it up.<br />

<br />Removed the bushing and relubed everything inside the control box and everything was fine.

Hope you replace the bushing, otherwise the metal to metal is going to wear fairly quickly, even with grease. Just because of all the free play because of the missing bushing.

Yes I replaced it Don. The local dealer did not have the parts and treated me like dirt, so I ordered them from DougRussell. They were great on the phone, nice people. I think they will get my business from now on.
