Quicksilver 3000 Classic Control install question

Due to a fire I had to replace my Quicksilver 3000 Classic Control (no longer available - got this one on eBay) and during the re-installation I noticed something that I think is a bit odd. In the photo it seems that "A-Lever" operates a cam that moves about "A-screw" and is able to cause the "Rotating Cylinder" to move back & forth. Problem is that "B-lever" is unable to move "B-Slide" because "A-Screw" totally blocks it. Is this normal, and if so how does this thing work? Does anyone know where I can get a diagram/photo that will show the parts?

Yes this is normal. the bracket is used only for shifting and there is not much movement needed for fwd/rev. B-slide rotates up/down

WOW!! Thanks a lot! I was afraid to continue with the installation because of my doubts about how it functioned - but now I can move forward.
