I am looking at buying a backup for my boat, and I have a question. Does the bravos come in different drive ratios like the alpha does? I want to make sure before I drop some money.

Thanks

Ayuh,... Of course they do,...
They're used with different motors, in different boats...

Thanks for the reply Bondo

How do I tell what ratio it is?

I have a 7.4 in my Sea Ray. What would be the common ratio for that boat?

Re: Quick question about Bravo I drives

the ratio will be stamped into the port side of the upper housing next to the serial number

otherwise look in the oem manual, they list the ratios/engine size

The serial numbers and gear ratio's are stamped in the Bravo drives just like your Alphas are. Do you have a Bravo I, II, or III ?

Re: Quick question about Bravo I drives

I have a bravo I on my boat and I just got back from picking this one up. It is a 1993 1.50 ratio stamped on the side. The guy is a marine repair guy WAY out in the country and he gave me a written 6 month warranty. It has just been rebuilt and re-sealed. For the price I got the whole drive for, I feel like a stole it. The bottom of the drive looks different than mine though. The front of the case comes to a very sharp point. It almost looks like a racing drive. I am going to pressure test the drive for sure, but I took the caps off, and everything looks really nice.
