Quick help - Prop Pitch - Small motor

Got your help with a evinrude 6hp
Reduced prop from 8.25x8p to 8x5.5p
Increased speed from 4 to 8mph and RPM to normal range.

Non planing Hull!!!!

I have replaced the 6hp with an Evinrude 9.5 w stock prop
Motor runs great but doesn't quite sound like it is maxing out. Running 12MPH
Not sure is prop is 8x7p or 8x8p(flue stopping me from checking)

Should I try the same trick on the 9.5?
Can get a 7.75x6.5p Tonight only new for cheap.

Working on getting a tiny-tach this week

I would get a tach reading first.

I think I'm going to try and get it anyway as it will work ok on the 6hp and could be a back up on the 9.5 if needed.

I can so the tach first then decide if it is needed as the main.

Any idea how fast a non-planing hull can be pushed safely?
