Quick fix for No Power

I have a 1990 Nissan Outboard motor and recently had a new transom put on my Nissan boat.

As I was about to leave one of the workers unscrewed something or screwed something or unattached something on the motor and told me to make sure I put it back before I put the boat in the water. I guess he did this as a safety precaution.

Anyway, I have called the place and they have no idea what he did but my boat doesn't seem to even be changing gears. It starts fine, etc but not really any power at all.

Any guesses on what he might have done?

There is nothing that would have been done as a safety precaution other than removing the safety lanyard clip. You need to take it back to that dealer and have them fix whatever they improperly disconnected.

Just a guess, but maybe he pulled the transom drain plug for the boat. Elvin is 100% right -- nothing that should have gone on/off the motor, except possibly the stop lanyard.

I agree, get back to the dealer and find out what they did.
