I've never dewinterized my boat and have always taken it to my local dealer to winterize it. I know there are several check points to go over, but as far as dewinterizing it looks basically simple. So is the only thing I need to do is hook up a pair of muffs over the intake, run the hose and start it? I know I have to check the hoses, belt for mold, etc. I just wasn't sure if there was more steps to getting the antifreeze/fog out of it other than just running it with the hose hooked up. I'm feeling stupid right now but my dad died a little early and don't have him around to ask the "stupid questions." When it's something I've never done before I would rather ask stupid questions than burn up the bearings in the prop. Thanks!

Are you talking about a MerCruiser stern drive or an outboard? If MerCruiser, repost in the MerCruiser forum. If Outboard, there is no antifreeze and likely no belts to check. Simply remove the prop, attach some fresh fuel, a flusher device and start her up. Check to see that the battery is charging. Now before launching, grease and install the prop.
