I am trying to do a tune up on my boat, the guy I got the boat from said it was a 350 small block out of a chevy. While looking at the engine I see its actually a volvo penta motor. So first question is can I just buy 350 parts from a local auto part supplier for the tune up?
I belive that I have identified the out drive as a 280 not sure what model of the 280 if there is more than one. I did find the following number on a tag on top of the foot its 28161082B my question on this out drive is when I lower it fully down it latches onto a dowel to keep it from moving. When it comes time to raise it the latch doesnt release on the dowel therefore causing the outdrive not to lift. If I manually move the latch it will raise with no problem. I see there is like a metal rod that comes out and hooks onto the latch but it doesnt do anything, if I manually use that rod it does release the latch.....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
