I am looking to repower my boat. I currently have a 1997 Yamaha 50Hp (T50TLRV) and have found a 2004 Yamaha 4-stroke 115 that I'm considering buying. Are the controls that I currently have compatible? What years would be compatible (in case I find others)?
Also, Is the replacement process pretty much removing the old motor, bolting on the new one in the same holes, and hooking the old controls up to it?
I have verified the shaft length is the same as the existing motor and the boat is rated for at least a 120.
