1957 18 HP Johnson. I just replaced the coils, points, condensers, spark plugs, and a top seal for the crankshaft. I'm now trying to put the magneto back on the powerhead. First question, my magneto is hard to put over the crankshaft and breaker cam, how am I suppose to line up the screws in the magneto with the armature plate mounting ring? I can't see them and it's very hard to get the magneto to seat on the shaft. Also, does this motor have retaining rings/wave washers, mine doesn't. Is it just lining up the cam mark with the cam follower to know where to place the magneto? I bought the OMC manual, but I can't find any directions on how to install the magneto and align the magneto to the plate. Thanks in advance.

Re: Questions about putting the magneto back on.

I did get the magneto on, and want to double check if I have the timing right, and the spark plug wires going to the correct plug. Here is a you tube video of the motor, please excuse the poor quality of it.
