Questions about my boat trailer.

So, I have a 12' fiberglass boat with a 9.5 hp Johnson.

The trailer that it came on confuses me.

I was always under the impression that bunks were intended to support the weight of the boat, but it seems this trailer uses the bunks to center it, and some rollers to support it.

What do you guys think?

Here are some pics.

The bunk on the driver side of the trailer. Note at the rear, there are two rollers supporting the boat.

And before anybody says it, yes I am going to redo the bunks.

Re: Questions about my boat trailer.

Pretty much the same style homemade/harbor freight job as the one I have for my 12' tin boat. The rear bunk should support the boat and . Just like on mine theres not much choice but to rest the keel on the roller unless you want to fab some bunks for that. Without front bunks I would make sure to run a strap around the the boat so it won't bounce and crack the keel.
