Just bought this boat as a fixer upper and was looking for a top for it. Is there a place to go that I might have better luck finding an original top/canopy for the boat? Was also looking for an original wooden swim platform. I have had no luck on ebay and was hoping that there may be better places that I haven't found yet.
Thanks!

Re: Questions about my 1988 21' Larson DC-215 Sportcruiser

Thanks Bond-o,
I may have been putting the cart before the horse. We put it in to the water and the engine heated up quickly. We're thinking it might be the impeller on the lower unit. It's not getting any water. We also took on a good amount of water (about 7-10 gallons) and there are no holes in the hull that I could find so she's going to be in dry dock for a while we investigate.

She's a 1988 Larson 21' DC-215 Sportcruiser with a 5.7L V8 Alpha One gen 1 if you were interested. Going to be a great boat once we get it working properly.

I have a 1990 DC 215 with same engine and Outdrive. Same problem with over heating. It turned out to be one of the risers was clogged. Took it off, Cleaned it out with narrow screwdriver and gently tapping with hammer. Then finished with a coat hanger,. I used the part of the hanger by the hook that is twisted to do the reaming. Worked well. The riser is now cool to the touch when the engine is running.

Thanks Kevin,
We just replaced one of the manifolds that was cracked and the riser looked fine on that side. Checked the other one and it looks fine. We figured out that the guy we bought the boat from had 2 of the hoses coming out of the thermostat housing mixed up and that was part of our problem. We can now hold a temp but that temp is around 220. A bit hot. We found that the water tube that connects to the transom is all dry rotted and leaking. Time for a bellows job and water tube replacement. Since you have a similar boat as we do I'd like to ask - is there no oil hose for the outdrive gear oil? The videos that I've watched on the web of the bellows job all show an oil tube but I'm pretty sure that ours doesn't have one. Thanks!
