Alisha, moderators are carefully selected individuals that are usually active members of a discussion board as they are here on iboats. <br /><br />Moderators are chosen by the board administration when one is needed or one retires. There are four of us here at iboats.<br /><br />Moderators are generally chosen for their technical background. Most moderators here are technically talented and make sure that all repair questions are answered correctly and posted in the appropriate place in our technical forums.<br /><br />Also, moderators are selected for their ability to handle situations diplomatically and for their sense of values as far as editing inappropriate posts.<br /><br />Moderators volunteer their time and are not on the payroll.
