Question re 1999 ficht--help

i am thinking about buying a 24 foot WA. It comes with a<br /> 225hp 1999 ficht. i can get the boat at a deep discount because of the<br /> engine. My question is if the head blows would a replacement head<br /> offered by bomb have the same issues as the original power head or<br /> have they been fixed on new power heads. thasks ron

There is a safety recall on those engines, make sure the work was done before you run it. The 200/225 doesn't have the powerhead failure rate some of the early small blocks experienced. Any replacement powerheads are now Bombardier produced, which would mean a big quality difference from what OMC was doing...<br /><br />-John
