Working on a few items for my new boat. One thing I have noticed is the tape seal that goes around the engine compartment hatch is peeling and falling off. I'm assuming this is some sort of special tape that is designed to keep engine fumes in the compartment and out of the cabin when the hatch is down. I could probably rig it to get it to stick back up, but I would really prefer to do it right and just replace it, however not exactly sure what it is called and if there is a specific type of seal I need to get. It's kinda fuzzy so wasn't sure if it was some special heat resistant gasket or something? I was originally just thinking of going to the auto parts store and grabbing some weather stripping, but again wasn't sure if there was something specific needed.

Thanks!!!

If the seal is in good shape and the only issue is that its drooping, I would get some weatherstripping adhesive and reattach it. Autoparts stores should carry it. Done deal.

Home Depot and Lowe’s carries a large variety of HVAC type weatherstripping, foam rubber sealing tapes, etc., etc....
Lots of different items to choose from

Perfect. I wasn't sure if it needed to be marine specific. Marine shop near me can order it, I guess it has a fiberglass layer
