I am restoring/rebuilding my 1975 14' Springbok Sprinter which is an aluminum built 4 seater with windshield and steering wheel and remote control throttle. My question is, I had originally planned to use my 1953 Evinrude 25HP bigtwin to power it but it does not have electric start and my 60 year old arms and shoulders couldn't handle many pull starts or pull start attempts.
Im leaning toward a 2021 Merc 25hp short shaft to repower it, question is is there a connector to make the twin cable and pully steering work or will i need to switch my steering box to a single steering enclosed system from today?

What does the Evinrude steering cable connector look like?

On the Merc, the hole the steering tie rod plugs into may be able to be used for attaching the Evinrude connector, possibly with a little modding.

Likely easy to make a bracket to attach tiller cable.-----I think bolt holes might be there already on the motor.
