Hey all. I'm picking up my 154 this weekend but I have a friend up north who is looking at a clean 1975 V-179 with what the seller says is a GM 3.0 engine in it. He says it looks real clean but isn't familiar with the motor or boat itself. I believe it's a tri-hull. Anyways - he doesn't have computer access so I said I'd post at the most knowledgeable place I knew.

Any help or familiarity with it is appreciated.

Re: Question on 1975 Glastron V-179

Well 3.0 is it OMC or MC? Makes a diff. in drive parts availability.

3.0 is a good engine, but they have a little history of head gasket issues.
Get a compression check. If 2-3 low suspect possible block damage.

17 ft. If it's a Tri-Hull it will be rough riding in rough water.

Glastron is a good builder.
