Getting ready to hang on the outdrive. May have mixed up the trunion caps and that is a no no. Those caps are installed then line bored to make them square and round.<br /><br />I did mark them but don't know whether I referenced from inside the boat or out. Yeah, I know, port is always port no matter your position to the boat. But Hey! As you know, lots of details to keep track of.<br /><br />Can you tell me whether the zerk fittings, on your caps, face upward at 45 deg or downward at 45 deg. That will tell me which is which for sure.

Hmmmmmm.... mine are ,straight!<br /><br />Oh Boy 50-50 guess. That's I put mine in baggies.

Ah heck, both of mine are at an angle. Figured that woulda been universal. Guess not. I used the baggie trick too, 'cept when I took the end covers and trunion caps out to paint them I didn't pay attention to how I had the bags marked. It woulda been a no brainer from the outset because of the flush fitting end cap.<br /><br />Oh well, I guesss we'll see how uniform OMC's casting and machining was.

my caps are punched "L" and "R"... look close maybe there's some indication on there...

Where are they punched hystat?
