Jeff,
I shot you an email, however you must not have seen it yet, so I thought I'd post it on the boards.

Have read through the boards and you seem to be quite knowledgable on pwc's, and was hoping to get your insight on something. Just to kind of give you an overview, I am currently in the Navy as an engineman, and just returned from deployment. Prior to my deployment, I picked up on a 97 xp that needed a complete rebuild. I considered this to be my next big project. It sat until I returned home. Upon my return home I pretty much rebuilt it from top to bottom. Have dropped a remanufactured engine in it and it runs like a champ! However, had it out today and was running it...(still breaking it in somewhat....kinda taking it easy still), and loss control of steering. Took it back in and upon further inpsection discovered that the steering reach rod connecting to the nozzle had snapped! This was no surprise since I had to replace the trim rod initually because it was snapped when I got the ski. So basically I am looking at replacing my whole steering cable....atleast that's what I see from my observation. So, Jeff, my question to you is what would be the best steering system to go with? I did a search and found UMI steering systems...however it doesn't look like it comes with a cable....not sure though. I figure if I'm going to replace the cable, I might as well go for better performance! Let me what you think!

thanks in advance,
Brian
