Capt DHD-

REF: 115 'Rude Power Loss post

I got my neighbor/part time Marine mechanic to look at my 115 'Rude. He thinks saltwater corrosion may be doing a number on the electrical system. It sure does act like an electrical problem, being an on/off thing. I plan to take steel wool/wire brush/electrical contact cleaner to all engine electrical contacts. In your opinion, what should I use to keep the corrosion from coming back? Is there a grease or oil I can use after cleaning the contacts to ensure that corrosion won't set in again? I plan to hose her down with anti-corrosion spray after it's all done.

The 115 has good compression and is worth the work.

Thanks-

Cyberhound
