i have a 03 four winns funship with a alpha drive. i was anchored of the beach in an inlet when a short storm blew through I broke loose and the stern went up on the beach bow still in the water luckily the drive was up but with the bow lifting and falling the outdrive was slamming on the sand. snapped the fold down swim latter of the swim platform.got it out checke outdrive everything looked allright but the skeg looked like it was not perfectly straight lookes like it has slihkt curve or cup in it is this normal maybe it was like that when i bought it should i invest in a skeg protector i thought a skeg would break before it would bend.

if it is only bent a littel bit it wont realy cause any problems it can be unbent but that may cause more trouble than leaveing well enough alone

tommays

Re: question about skegs

I put a Skeggard on my broke skeg. works great, they are 99.95 (set price) I picked mine up on the internet because no local dealer.
