I have a 1995 Sea Ray 195 which is 20' 2" and acording to the owners manual it is 2350 lbs dry with the 3.0. I have the 4.3, so I figure that is another hundred pounds or so. Then by the time you add trailer weight and all the gear I have on the boat, I got to be close to 3200 lbs if not over. My trailer is a single axle with brand new tires that are rated for over 1800 lbs. each. Thats only 400 above what I'm estimating the boat to weigh. Maybe I'm just paranoid but that seems a little close for comfort. Sometimes going over bumps, there is quite a bit of bounce in the tires. Should I consider having someone convert my trailer to a tandem axle. Is that even possible, or would I have to buy a new trailer?
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you have.
