Question about main bellows

Bravo 3 on the main bellows that aluminum ring that holds the aft part in i have a question. I have to tool but it just does not seem like it pounds in well, i can grab it and its tight but i can pull it back out. My question is with the outdrive installed does it push uo against that ring and keep it from coming out?

Get a can of Mercury Power Tune, spray the ring and bellow and simply push the ring in till fully seated

I just use carb cleaner, but PowerTune is the chosen stuff. Using it as a lubricant you can seat the ring with your fingers as long as you have the bellows aligned properly.

It seems to seat its just not super tight, last one i had to pry out with screwdriver. Was wondering if the drive pushes against it when its installed

the drive rests close it but does not "push" on it

The 'ring' on one of my outdrives always seems to come off every year when I remove the outdrive. I just place it back in and let the outdrive 'squish' it all back together when it is re-installed.
