Question about DVA meter

I have an older Fluke 83 which does Min/Max but the resolution is limited to 100 milliseconds. I may be wrong but I think I read somewhere a DVA needs to have resolution at 250 microseconds. Is that true or will my Fluke work fine for diagnosing ignition?

Which one is Best ?

To measure overall Ohm and DVA output values while troubleshooting electrical componets such as : exciter, ignition coils and CDI outputs which meter is best to use an Analog or a Digital multimeter ? Happy Boating

When testing Ignition Coil's outputs with an external DVA converter hooked to a digital meter while cranking or with motor running need to :​

Set meter to DC 500 volts scale, hook both external DVA leads (1) to their respective polarity on meter. Question : does it matters which converter's input (+,-) leads (2) are used to measure the Ignition Coil's output (3) or you can test the output with any of them (+,-) measured at any of both cables ends ?
