Not ideal setup but simple and good enough for the particular boat: two AGM batteries, positive terminals connecting to a 1/2/1&2/OFF switch, and on the other side, to a common (one for both batteries) ON/OFF ground switch.

Question— I have two chargers and would like to use both - one per battery - simultaneously to save time. So - 1/2/1&2/OFF switch turned to “OFF” - ON/OFF ground switch turned to “ON” - one charger used per battery. Safe? Or not?

If not, I’ll charge one battery at a time, using, can I assume, the same switch settings. Thanks.

No problem using both at same time
No need to have a ground "switch", keep all grounds connected together all the time

You can USUALLY NEVER put 1 charger in SERIES with another. Many are wired GROUND and MINUS at the same screw in the charger. If you have series batteries ? Like trolling motors ? Connecting the 2 chargers in series ? PUTS the higher charger ground and minus voltage RIGHT ONTO the lower charger POSITIVE post. Very bad dead short circuit. You will only do the melted wires and tripped circuit breakers 1 time.
