what is the word up on the Quantum bass boats of the late 80's and also Force out board motors of that time? I've never heard of either of these before and am thinking about getting this set up.

I own a Force and love it, but it is a '95 70 hp. I would not recommend an 80's Force. Different electronics and lower unit.

Hi Worms.. Quantam and Bayliner are one in the same...<br /><br />They have some real issues with rotten wood in the floors, stringers, and transoms, so you should proceed VERY cautiously... In other words, you should probably find something else unless it's been locked up in a garage for most of it's life...<br /><br />Force outboards are bottom of the line, but still they are so-so.. Force, just like any other engine; needs proper maintinance to run right and live a long and happy life..

Hey! thanks for the reply. This package has been sitting in a garage for years. Not much use. I will keep your suggestions in mind when considering this purchase.

Quantum and Bayliner, One in the same??<br />My Quantum is a welded alum hull based off Blue Fin and Fisher design. How does that in any way compare to a Bayliner? Except they were all owned by Brunswich at one time.

Whew!! You had me worried there. Almost afraid to launch the boat.<br /><br />But on second thought, you may be right. Seems I have had a few BMary's tonight. I don't even have a Quantum, I have a Spectrum. Cheers. Now where's that bottle of Absolut?

Re: quantum bass boats & force o.b. motors

forums are new to me so please be patient. Anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for a 1996 Quantum bass boat? I am having problems with livewell pump. Pump is just running won't shut off unless I unhook it from the battery, its hooked up to factory toggle switch. What I dont understand is that there is power coming in to one side of toggle switch and also the other side of the switch even when the wires are unhooked. The way I understand it is that power comes in one side the switch is switched to on position then power goes to other side. I am really confuse why i have continous power on both sides unhooked. Any help woul be greatly appreciated.

I have a 89 quantum and a 89 125hp force on it. There are issues with the floor being soft in one spot but the force runs good. I had the boat for about a year now.

Welcome to iboats. You need to start a new thread in the Electronics section and not use a very old thread to answer a question. Post your Question here http://forums.iboats.com/forumdisplay.php?f=23 :)

Similar answer...... you need to post this question in our Restoration Section http://forums.iboats.com/forumdisplay.php?f=22 and start a new thread ;)
