If it is still running after 34 years, what do you think? Alot depends on how it was maintained. See what you can find out about the maintenance from the seller. You need to check the compression, spark and gearlube (for water or metal).
More then likely if it's a 71... it's electric shift. Ends up I Love mine.. but they have there issues and alot would say otherwise about the electric shift. Depends on what they want for it. and how papasmurf's suggestions come out
