QL is a resistor plug. Not supposed to creat any electrical interfernece to accessories like radios and fishfinders. Also non-resistor type plugs can affect the ignition on newer model motors with the OIS ignition systems.
They are basically the same plugs. You can use either in your motor. I don't think there is a "v" in the number though.
