QL77JC4 Plugs

I went to Waly World the other day to get some plugs for my 92 60HP Tracker. They were out of the QL77JC4 plugs that I originally had in them. They did have L77JC4 plugs. Was told these will work fine in my motor and the only difference is they don't have the resistor for electrical noise reduction. I don't have much high tech electronics on board so I got them. Will I get a hotter spark since they don't have to go through a resistor? Noticed no problems with my GPS or FishFinder. Should I just keep using these since they are easy to get?

The L77JC4 will work fine, but do try to get the recommended plug when you can.

As always, I could be wrong here. But, I was told be a local tech that the suppressor (the Q)in that plug protects your low tension ignition components from the high tension noise. Your ignition components are very expensive.<br /><br />Good luck.<br />Duck L.

Duck..... Almost right. The "Q" indicates a "Suppressor" type plug that is designed to quiet noise and/or interference in any electronic accessories that may exist, not the ignition components.

That Q plug is meant to keep radio frequent noise from the engine warning system, such as, low oil, no oil. With out it, you could be looking for a non existent problem.
