My accelerator pump shaft has fuel leaking up around the shaft. At least I think its coming up from around the shaft. There is a small amount of fuel pooling around the pump. The Carb was rebuilt a year ago. The Boat runs great.

What would cause this?
Is the pump itself bad?
Or is there a seal that is leaking?

Thanks for any insight.:)

Re: Qjet Question

The only "seal" there is the fit of the hole in air horn to the plunger shaft. So something is worn out or you may have too high a float level.

Thanks for the response.

So would you recommend that I check the float level? I have limited experience with carbs and have not worked on this one before. I had it rebuilt by a "trustworthy mechanic" and I know he did replace the float when he did the rebuild.

I guess I'll pull the carb next time I'm at the boat and check the float level.
