I have a early 90's SeaDoo GTX and it has a short in the elecronics. When I try to start it, most of the time it does not start unless I knock on the large electronics box between the Batt and the engine. It was flooded big time twice last year (water in the engine even), I assume it has some problem leftover from that. I know a dealer would try to get me to replace it, when it might only have a small problem.

Also the seat is just starting to crack, I would like to get it recovered any suggestions? Thanks

Do you know of any other good PWC conferences for help?

Steve in Iowa

98 larson
92 seadoo
57 cadillac (boat)

Re: PWC Help

The electronics problem will take some trubleshooting (IMHO) hard to guess at. The seat recovering is really easy, you can buy pre cut, pre formed material (in factory or custom colors) from alot of after market places (dennis kirk or barts comes to mind).

So, There are other's here in Iowa!, Councel Bluffs must be near water!

Have you opened the box up and see what is loose?

Re: PWC Help

usually it is the ground wire to the battery that causes you problems, however you may have water inside the box as well, you can get the seat recovered for a reasonable price just check local upholstery shops and be sure they use stainless staples
