Well my posting has some errors....."senior moment"!
Prop IS a Laser II, 13+ dia. x 20 P, right hand rotation, Quicksilver PN 48-16990-A40. Hole dimensions, at the outer surface of the barrel are 7/16" front to rear, and 11/16 in the circumference dimension. looking into the hole, the part adjacent to the bottom of the blade root is vertical, while the sloped part is on the opposite side of the hole.....must matter because I see holes for RH and LH rotation.
Comments appreciated as usual.
Hi Texas Mark. Haven’t been clever enough to look up the actual numbers you give, but like to think I’m pretty good with this sort of thing.
so is your laser defo the square vented prop ?
there are a few of these lasers as you obviously know.
there are the older type square vented smaller gear case laser 2 and only came in even number pitch increments.
there are the square vented larger gear case laser 2 props for the likes of the V6 merc outboards and alpha one outdrives that came in odd pitch numbers
then there are the later versions of the laser 2 of both types (I think, but certainly the larger gear case and odd numbers) that came suited to the more recent “pvs” round vented system.
then they stopped making the laser 2 apart from for the smaller gear case and in one inch increments. If you can follow all that. Haha. As far as I know anyway. The laser 2 was replaced by the tempest most closely for the larger gear case, as far as I can gather.
not sure all that helps, but just what I can figure on f it all.
with your situation, I think you will either have the smaller gear case even number pitch laser 2 with either square vents or round pvs vents. I also believe that despite claims, there is a slight difference in their blade between the old and most recent.
