I will be keeping my OB (1997 merc 6hp ) in room temp for the winter. I been using it in salt water, do i need to buy any kind of concentrate to flush it or regular house water is fine? also do i need to change the oil or anything before i put it away?

flush the motor with tap water on the garden hose and flusher device. Let her run until the thermostat opens. Shut her off, remove the flusher and let her drain well. Now change the gear oil and put her in the closet....

Being as its indoors you may want to drain the carb of fuel or run it dry

every time I come to shore I disconnect the gas line and let it run so all carb fuel gets eaten.

The carbs do not run dry, just low, the remaining fuel will dry and leave oil which can continue to dry and leave a thick greasy coating that can clog small idle fuel and air passages.

Pull each float bowl drain plug and drain all fuel.

As the motor is running on the flusher *** it to be sure all inner surfaces are well coated with additional oil.

Remove the prop, clean and regrease the splines. Grease all fittings, and steering if connected.
