I have a trailer for a 19 ft Caravell bowrider. Can I use this trailer to transport a polaris jet ski (two seater)? I would secure the jet ski with tie down straps.

I use a the trailer for my 14 ft john boat as a utility trailer to go to the dump and move furniture. Build a bracket to cradle it and let it eat. People may stare but hey at least your riding.

DFB, it should be easy to use the boat trailer to carry the jet ski. The question is whether you will need some additional supports or cradle. I will guess that you will need something to modify the support the trailer needs to give to the jet ski. The fun part therefore, will be designing a cradle to secure the jetski on the trailer, which can be easily removed when you want to pull the boat.

thanks for the optimistic replies. My plan is to adjust the bunks on the trailer to accomodate the jet ski. I am not using the trailer for the boat (it is in dry storage).

Re: put jet ski on boat trailer

Dfb, I once converted the bunk type boat trailer for my 16 speedboat into a utility trailer. I removed all the bunks and rollers and created a 6X6 bed with "farm truck" sides, using 2X4s, teco brackets and 1X3 decking. It would hold two snowmobiles side-by-side, or a whole bunch of stuff (3/4 ton of sand, many yards of mulch, firewood, two motorcycles..). I even used it to move a couple of times. I looked like the "Beverly Hillbilies", but it sure could hold a lot.
