Hello all, been reading some thrads and made me think of this. Have a 1990 Chaparral Merc 350. Sometimes when I push the trim tabs, up or down, I can feel a reduction in power. It's like it just gets weaker why I am holding down the button. This does not happen all the time but has happened on several outings. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

if and accessory has and electric problem or the chargeing system or battery is weak a high draw item can lower the system voltage to the point were the ignition system does not have enough voltage to make correct spark and the motor can stall while the accessory is being used

tommays

Thanks Tommays. My batteries are new, is this something that I need to worry about or will it not do any harm to leave 'em be?

An electric motor trying to push the tabs will draw power that the alternator has to make up...just like turning on the A/C in you car makes the motor idle lower for a bit..I woudn't worry
