Been wanting to replace the push button igition switch with a keyed ignition switch on my 1979 johnson. I've seen several switches that have a push to choke feature. Will this work on my motor? I normally choke it by pulling the choke switch on the front of the motor. But if I can get away with the choke being on the ignition switch I'd love that.

The push to choke feature won't work on your motor since there is no solenoid for it to actuate. Pulling the manual choke button is simply pulling a linkage. If you are mechanically inclinded, you could probably fashion a bracket and add a solenoid and choke linkage. Just takes a little thought.

I kind of figured that but I wasn't 100% sure. Was hoping for a simple solution. I'll probably just leave it as is.
