Do you need to prime the sea pump? I just purchased this boat and pulled out the impeller. I started the engine and it runs good:) Now after I put it all back together do I fill the heat exchanger with water? Is there anything more that I should know about start up with this particular boat? THANKS

Why did you take out the impeller?? That's what pumps the water from the outdrive to cool the engine and exhaust.
You shouldn't need to prime anything, but you do have to have the impeller in it for it to work.

I pulled the impeller to start the engine without water I run it for about 20 seconds. I needed to know it run before I bought it without having to drain all the water and pull all the plugs out of it. Seem to be the thing to do at the time.I drove 3hrs to pick it up spent 4500 + fuel so I Had to take a chance I don't think I did anything wrong or did I.

the impeller is located on the front of the engine not in the outdrive that is why I thought it might have to be primed. The out drive is a 270 I should have included that in my first post.. Sorry about that.

you most likely did no damage. Much longer and you could start to overheat the exhaust. I wouldn't try it any more.:)
