I just bought a 17' Sea Nymph with a 80 hp Merc. It goes like hell, but it ( the wheel ) pulls to the right. The skeg looks straight & the prop is good. Any suggestions? There is a trim tab but I know if it is adjustable.
thank-you
RRk

I thought you were suppose to turn the tab the
direction the boat was pulling.

Where is the cavitation plate relative to the keel before you adjust? If the engine is jacked up to go fast with the cavitation plate two or more inches above the bottom of the transom, the trim tab will have no effect.........Fix is to lower engine and lose 5 mph or more so that the trim tab becomes effective, or switch to hydraulic no feedback stearing....... :D

Re: PULLS TO THE RIGHT

I have an 18'2" Nitro NX882 w/merc 150HP engine. When I got on plane it would pull really hard to the right, and when I took right turns, the back of the boat would always swing around when I would turn it too sharp. I put a trim tab on it, and adjusted it, though it didn't do squat once I got on plane. I had to lower the engine on the jackplate 2 notches. Now, when I'm on plane, it pulls to the right with the engine trimmed ALL the way down, but once I trim it out a little bit, it stops pulling to the right. Not a big deal to me, since I only run it on plane with the engine trimmed all the way down for a few seconds...

-Mike
