pulling flywheel

hello, i need to pull the flywheel on a 1978' merc 70hp .what kind of puller do i need here and where do i fasten it to get at the stator and will i upset the timing or anything else when i re-install flywheel and a new stator. thanks any help is appreciated

I use a harmonic wheel balancer puller. You can rent one at your local auto parts store or buy one. They are pretty cheap. If you don't fool with any of the linkage adjstments your timing won't be affected.
