Any advice on how to pull the engine from my 97 SeaRay 215 EC? I see the front mounts but the rear is completely obscured by the transom overhang. Are there rear mounts and a bellhousing to unbolt? Also any ideas on hoists? I've pulled car engines before but the hoists I've rented will no way go high enough with the boat blocked in the driveway, Its an Alpha drive

Thanks

You have to pull the drive in order to get the shaft out of the coupler , then there are 2 mount bolts (3/4" socket) that holds the bellhousing to the inner transom shield.
Being able to see what you are doing is not always an option when working on boats.

Ayuh,.......
Remove the 8 nuts holding the Drive on,+ Remove it......

Pull the Plug,+ any other Wiring, Fuel Lines Etc.....

Pull the 4 Lag Screws holding the Front Mounts,+ the 2 Don has shown you on the Rear,.......

And Lift the motor Out........

Jacking UP the neape of the trailer will Lower the rear of the boat,......
Hopefully,... Enough......

Re: Pulling a Mercruiser 5.7 engine

Ok great info, I already have the drive off so it's just the front mounts and the 2 rear bolts then. I can get to them. Great pics on the hoist frames. I live on the water so I dont have a trailer but I can probably borrow one for the project so I can move the boat and the lower the engine to a stand. Great advice thanks
