I'm fixing to pull a 90 johnson 150 from a boat to my stand, is it safe to lift the motor using 3. 5/15 bolts in the flywheel?
If the is a better way other than buying a i-boat for the crankshaft.
If i know the thread type, I could buy a not and build one,

The OMC one I have threads on the end of the crank and has 3 bolts. Bolt aren't very long. Pretty sure the three bolts alone and some cobbled together plate would hold it but that is far as I can go.... guarantee wise. I have a 30 hanging by the bolts and a steering wheel puller now.

Comes with two sets of screws, and could easily be reproduced. Pretty sure the screws themselves would hold the motor.

I ended up using my fly wheel puller, I ran a shout chain between the bolts,
I worked good, the only think I'm going to change, is to use grade 8 bolts when I lift it again.

I believe your bolts are fine...grade 8 doesn't give and I think you want that.

The threads are the week point I'm guessing.

I have so many outboards, I have to hang them just to walk around in my garage!
