pull start ? 85 hp

1987 85 hp
starter motor is giving me a hard time so...
I thought I'd pull start her up.

HOLY #@## ! talk about a hard pull !!!!
this cant be right and/or normal.

thoughts ?
ps; all oil levels are fine,plugs plled or not...still HARD !

With all plugs pulled and the starter (manual or motor) is still having a hard time, drop the lower unit and try again. If it is still hard, then it is time to remove head and do an open and inspect of the cylinders.

Do a compression test!

If the starter is giving you trouble???
Take it apart and see what's the problem.
If it's ok? then do the comp test and then drop the lower.
