My youngest son is going to participate in the Color Guard for the dedication of the World War II Memorial. He will be carrying the US Army flag.<br /><br />It will not be the main event on the Mall in Washington, but the secondary location at the new Smithsonian Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport.<br /><br />Probably will be upwards of 1500 veterans and their families there. Pretty heady stuff for a 9-year old.<br /><br />I've been working with the rehersals, the kids look pretty sharp.<br /><br />Jinx

I use our local Color Guard to post the colors and escort my honorees at all my fundraising events.<br /><br />We don't allow music or singing during, so everyone is completely focused on them, its very moving.<br /><br />You should be very proud. :)

hi Jinx, I still got a pic. somewhere around here<br />where I got to carry the stars and stripes around<br />that age. can't remember even what it was about,<br />but will never forget the feeling of pride :D <br />pic is with me and then congressman Jack Kemp.<br />(ex bflo. bills AFC champ quaterback and once<br />presidential candidate)<br />u must be a proud pappa!<br />M.Y.
