... Although not a stranger to other forums at all.. Just sold my HD Wide Glide a couple of weeks ago after having the c*** scared out of me for the umpteenth time. Decided the Wife and I would enjoy a boat a bit more, so the search started.
I started digging through Craigslist where I found a lot of Junk, some decent buys and some very overpriced 'relics'. Went to look at a couple, got discouraged, then opened up the laptop when I got home.. hmmm... What's this? '96 SeaRay 175 Fish 'n Ski? 115 Merc? Looks nice! I fire off an email and make an appointment to see the boat the following evening. I get there, and this thing is beautiful! Still has the original mooring cover, convertible cover, shorel'ndr trailer with new tires, and has lived in a garage since it was brought home. I look it over, digging around all over the boat (not my first 'used boat' rodeo). I ask 'how many hours?' Guy doesnt know.. he's got another boat that he fishes with, this one only got used with the wifey and kids about 6 times a summer. Hmmm, me thinks... not a lot of use. Nothing soft anywhere, everything works, engine looks very clean. So, after spending about 2 hours going over every inch, and remembering that their ad said '$7000 OBO', I shoot them an offer of $6300. Yeah, I know, it's above NADA book, but considering what I had been looking at for 10k, this thing is a very very well maintained boat at a great price.
Anyways... Nice Forum! I hope to be learning some new tricks from you all, and maybe sharing a few of my own!
And Now, I'd like to introduce you to our new toy... "Can't Buy Cool"
