Outboard is winterized and boats covered and sitting next to my garage for the Winter . . .
With my past outboards I always kept them inside on a stand in the garage. But this 40 is to big and not worth the trouble of disconnecting everything and taking it off for the winter.
Any tips on how I could protect the motors finish (I'll wax it anyway) from the harsh winter elements. It's sure to wind up encased in ice for the next few months or since I have the motor upright for draining purposes the lower unit will for sure be in snow for the winter.
Is there a method to encase it in something. I'd wrap it in a heavy leaf bag but that would keep it damp in between the plastic and the metal as moisture is sure to get in.
I like to keep my stuff in pristine condition and I know some motors are in the water the whole summer, but that mars up the finish on most that I've seen that are constantly exposed to the elements.
I wonder is there is a kit to shrink wrap an outboard like you can a boat?
Any ideas?
Thx
