I'm trying to find out if i have a bad lower unit on a 9.8 Model 110 i picked up at a garage sale for $20. I'm all the way down to just a bearing and propshaft, but i cannot get the propshaft to out of the lower unit casing. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this off? I'll post some pics to show where i am at. Thanks in advance.

If you have removed the ring nut (threaded on the outside) and just need to pull the shaft and bearing carrier, the manual says clamp the shaft in a vise and whack the housing with a mallet. I have also done it by stacking up varous pluming parts and washers against the LU housing and tightening a nut on the propshaft, making it into a puller.
