Hello,

I have a second hand Force 85 HP. The propellor has a diameter of +/- 13.3 inch. I don't know the pitch.
Does anyone know what the best pitch is to buy, I do not use my boat for waterskieing. Sometime's there is a flotable item behind the boat.

Thanx in front

FjH

Re: Proppellor

We would need to know what kind of boat you have. A prop on a deck boat would be different than one on a runabout and a big runabout would need a different prop than a small one. Even so, about all we can do is give educated guesses. Two factors that would go into our calculations would include what pitch the current prop is and how many RPMs the boat was getting at full throttle. Outboards have a recommended maximum RPM limit and you want to get a prop that allows the motor to reach those RPMs at full throttle with a normal load.

Can you give us any numbers off the prop you have? Most have part numbers and some have the dimensions either stamped or cast into it. The year or model number of the motor also might help as some Forces fit Merc props and some don't. With Merc props, you have a wide variety of styles available. With Force props, there are only two kinds.

Re: Proppellor

The problem is, I don't have any numbers on the prop which is mounted on the outboard this time. Secondly, the RPM meter is defect.........I know repair that first !
I know the diameter of the prop, it is 13.5". When I look at several site's at a FORCE 85 HP from 1989, 3 cylinder, I only can find this prop with a pitch of 17.
The boat is a Placom from about 15.5 foot, weight about 800 KG (!). This include's the motor.

For now, thanx allready for the answer(s)
