I'm going with the 20" unless I stumble upon a 22" (eBay or Craigslist) for cheap before i see a 20". I'll probably wind up buying retail (online, here at iBoats maybe) because they don't show up on eBay often (in like new shape). I'm going 20" because what I really want is more on the low end for water sports with the kids......but yeah, I aso feel the need for speed just to see what it can do, so I'm sure some day I'll try a 22" or maybe a fast 21" 3-blade as my "speed prop".

I tend to collect props a bit.

Re: Proper WOT on upgraded 5.7L vortec engine.

OK< got my new Stiletto bay Pro II 4-blade 20" a few days ago. I wanted to post back how it went to let those that helped me know the results (so far).

First off, nothing like a new prop delivered, opened and ready to go! Went out this weekend and the prop is BEAST as the kids say. Great hole shot (not a huge improvement over the 19" 3-blade though), Mid-range is a lot better, boat feels way "lighter" due to lift from the prop. Top end is close to the same (48 mph, however the water was about 15 deg. warmer than when I tested the 19" and the air was also which makes a difference.

I maybe could have trimmed out a bit more for 1 mph but it was a bit rough, had the family on board AND I need to get used to the boat riding up on the chines (I think that's what it's called). Now, hard to beleive but I totally forgot to look at the tach at WOT! I'll have to go check again.

Also, my boat now planes down to 19-21 mph depending on where folks are sitting. That's maybe 4 mph better than before - a very important 4 mph when a 7 year old is tubing! Last year I'd plow along at 17-18 for little kids, now I'm OK sending a couple to the bow and going 20 on plane. It"s sooooo much better of a ride for the boat and the kid.

All-in-all, it's a great prop for me. I can't believe how different the boat feels at cruise speed of 35 mph or so. It's my first 4-blade and i like it - definately a "keeper". Now, i also bought a used 21" 3-blade SS to see how it works, but I doubt it will have the low-mid range handling the BPII has! I'm pretty sure this will be my "normal" prop; maybe keep the 21" also IF it adds 2-3 mph of top speed.....just so my kids (just the kids, mind you) can say the boat goes 50!

Thanks again for the help! Walleyehead specifically set me onto the BPII and I very much appreciate the help.
