getting ready to do a compression check on our recently rebuild 4.3L. Having difficulty finding a baseline number. What should the correct compression value be for a recently rebuilt 4.3L ?

Re: proper compression

Compression can very motor to motor. What you really want is consistincy across all holes. In an ideal world they would all be the same but that rarely happens. The closer they are the better. That assumes the piston size is the same in all holes. I have seen some shady rebuilders just rebore 1 hole to fix an issue claiming a full rebuild.

I want to recall the car 4.3s are around 160-180 psi but it has been a long time sinced I worked on one of those.
