Last year, on what was to be my last fishing trip of the year, I was doing my pre-trip inspection before leaving at 3 a.m. Well the trolling motor was dead, so I thought the battery was shot. I just put the boat in storage for the year. I have 2 wet deep cycle battery's. Today, I went ahead and pulled them out to test/charge them because I thought there might have been an issue with my on board charger. They both had roughly 12.5 volt's. That mean's they're still good,,,right?? I'm going to try and take them and get them load tested.

My charger is a Cabela's dual bank. I have to admit I know nothing about electronic's. I tested the charger. The side labled "start battery" was putting out 12.12 volt's, and the other side was putting out 13.5. Is this normal for them to be differant. When I tested the amps, both side's were going up and down from 1 through 5. Is that normal.

When I charge the battery, should I remove the cap's, or leave them on. I looked in there and all the water level's where equal, and no plate's were showing. I guess I don't need to add water, or do I.

Sorry to sound like such a newbie, but hey, I am.
